Bio

I obtained my Masters and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (Cognitive Neuroscience) from the University of Florida, and then completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship here at UC Davis. I am interested in understanding the neural mechanisms of spatial and feature-based attention in humans. My current research focuses on applying univariate and multivariate statistical models including machine learning techniques to analyze multi-modal datasets that include simultaneously recorded fMRI, eye-tracking, and EEG data. In the future, I would like to extend this research to investigate how disorders related to attention such as ADHD, dyslexia, and dementia impact our ability to pay attention and come up with strategies and diagnostic techniques to mitigate them. In exciting new interdisciplinary research together with the California Lighting Technology Center here at UC Davis, I am investigating how cognition and stress are affected by ambient lighting. This research has many practical implications for society, from workplace design to healthcare.
